Nearly three decades of moving vehicles properly.

Founded as A1 Auto Salvage in Loanhead, Midlothian. Salvage was the core — but a few transporters bought to collect salvage vehicles became a business of their own, and A1 Transport was born.

Outgrowing Loanhead, the company moved to larger premises in Livingston — and changed its name to A1 Automotive.

Rapid growth continued with premises acquired in Bathgate (now our head office location) and Bedlington — and the business branched into new-vehicle PDI and transporter repairs and maintenance.

Acquired premises in Consett, County Durham — a state-of-the-art car-transporter workshop, staffed by HGV mechanics with over 80 years' combined experience in the industry.

Expansion continued with storage premises at Eurocentral; the PDI operation moved there from Bathgate shortly afterwards.

Continued growth demanded larger offices — the company acquired its current head office premises, giving the traffic office, accounts department and management team a modern open-plan home.

Storage and PDI operations relocated from Eurocentral to a new purpose-built site in Bathgate.

200+ employees, a fleet of 85 modern transporters, secure storage for 2,500 vehicles, and the same founding idea: vehicles delivered safely, efficiently, on time and damage-free. We operate from Bathgate and Consett, seven days a week.
